Bison Transportation Takes Over Pottle's Transportation Division

August 9, 2023

Bison Transportation, founded in 1969, is one of the largest trucking companies in Canada today. They offer a full range of transportation services including truckload, dedicated fleet operations, logistics and yard management. They are North America's safest fleet and a trusted partner in providing supply chain solutions.

The year has started with a couple of major takeovers in North American trucking, continuing the M&A trend that characterized last year. Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Bison Transport this week acquired Hermon, Maine-based Pottle's Transportation, along with its truckload fleet of 200 tractors and 750 trailers. The company also has a logistics offering, yard management and warehousing services. The deal is effective Oct. 31. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

A few months ago, Bison Transport USA launched a new division, dedicated to serving energy equipment transport customers across the country. It offers dry van and refrigerated hauls in all 48 states and Canada. As a dry van or reefer driver with Bison, you'll be paid per mile and earn competitive wages for your efforts. Home time options vary from weekly to 14-days out, giving you a work/life balance that works for you and your family.

Bison Transport is one of the largest carriers in Canada, and it serves all of its own terminals in Manitoba and six key hubs across the USA. It offers full-truckload transportation across Canada and to 48 nearby states, as well as dedicated fleet operations, logistics, yard management and warehousing. The company employs more than 3,700 professional drivers and staff.
