FedEx Field - Why is FedEx Field So Bad?

June 14, 2023

While you can watch a football game from the comfort of your home, or even a bar, there is nothing quite like watching a live NFL matchup at a stadium. That’s especially true if you are a die-hard fan. But sadly, not all NFL stadiums are created equal. In fact, some are so bad that you would think the team behind them would want to get out of them. One such example is the Redskins’ FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland. The team openly wants a new stadium, and it may not be too much of a stretch to call their current home the worst in the league.

The team has tried to fix some of the problems at the stadium in recent years. In particular, they have reduced the number of seats in both end zones to allow for more standing room areas. This has lowered the stadium’s capacity from 92,000 to 80,000. But it’s still a far cry from the modern stadiums that are opening up around the NFL.

Another problem at the stadium is that the view of long passes and kicks can be obstructed in some seating locations. This is particularly true in the 200-level sections on the north side of the stadium. But there are some good options for fans who want to avoid this issue.

Lastly, the Redskins have been known to charge high prices for beer at FedEx Field. This can add up quickly and is something that many fans are not happy about. The stadium also has a history of injuries on the field with seven players getting seriously injured in the last few seasons.
