2023-2024 School year bus routes are posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal in the Student Details section and on your child’s school website under the links area. In addition, you can access the information on your smart phone using the FirstView app – available through the Apple or Android stores. FirstView uses GPS data and real time information to display your student’s bus location, a schedule for the current day’s bus route and a timeline of scheduled arrivals/departures for each stop. It also offers a variety of features that allow you to receive push notifications or email alerts about your student’s status including a choice of distance and/or minute-to-minute updates.
All students in Kindergarten through Grade 1 must be met at their assigned bus stops by a parent or designee who is present to ensure that the student gets on and off the bus safely. Parents can find the form for designating someone to pick up their student here.
RCSD school buses are operated by highly trained, experienced bus drivers who possess a CDL Class B license with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements, and must be fingerprinted and criminal history cleared by the NY State Department of Justice. The driver’s name and address must be kept on file at the district office for residency verification purposes.
