Hornady Transportation Will Merge With Builder's Transportation Co

August 9, 2023

Founded in 1925, hornady transportation has been providing flatbed transport services throughout the united states. Their company specializes in hauling general commodities, building products, and steel. The company has a fleet of 230 late model tractors and 325 flatbed trailers. The company is headquartered in Monroeville, Alabama.

In addition, the company has a terminal in Birmingham, Alabama. The company was established by G.E. Hornady and is now led by their third generation of leadership under B.C. Hornady. The company is a family-oriented operation that is proud to offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

This merger will make Hornady Transportation one of the largest flatbed carriers in the country. They will be joining forces with Builder’s Transportation Co (BTC) who is currently operating a fleet of 406 tractors and 605 flatbeds. Together, they will be able to haul freight all over the country.

The merger was announced this week, and comes within weeks of Daseke’s announcement that Charleston, South Carolina-based Bulldog Hiway Express had merged with the Addison, Texas-based firm. Daseke claims it is the largest owner and consolidator of flatbed, open-deck and specialty trucking capacity in North America with over 3,000 tractors and 6,000 trailers.
