How to Clean Nuna Pipa Car Seat

November 12, 2023

Nuna Pipa car seat is a highly-rated infant car seat that is also very stylish. It has many features that set it apart from other car seats, including rigid lower anchor connectors that click right into your vehicle’s LATCH hooks, and a low birthweight infant insert that can be used to provide a snug fit for very small newborns.

As with any car seat, it is important to keep it clean and free of debris and stains. Fortunately, the car seat fabric can be machine-washed on a delicate cycle, so it’s easy to keep it looking like new! You may want to use a mild detergent to keep the car seat’s flame retardants intact.

First, check the manufacturer’s instructions on washing the car seat cover. Most Nuna car seat covers are machine-washable, but it’s always a good idea to double-check to make sure.

Once you’ve removed the car seat cover, remove any infant inserts and unthread the harness straps. Be careful to note how the straps are threaded so you can re-thread them correctly when you’re done.

Next, wash the car seat shell using a cold, gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Be careful not to use bleach or fabric softeners, as they can damage the fabric. Let the fabric air-dry or dry on a towel. When the car seat is fully dry, re-attach the harness straps and chest clip. It’s also a good idea to use some lubricant on the buckle tongue and clasp to help prevent them from getting stuck in the car seat belt guides when you tighten them.
