How to Get Glitter Out of Car Seats

February 26, 2024

Glitter can add a sparkle to crafts and decorations, but it can be a major mess when it gets on your car seats. It is also notoriously difficult to clean up, as the tiny, shimmering particles seem to stick to everything. Luckily, there are several effective methods for removing glitter from cars seats. In this article, we will explore three popular techniques – vacuuming, using a lint roller, and using rubbing alcohol.

Vacuuming

The best way to get rid of a large amount of glitter in your car is to vacuum it. Attach a crevice tool or brush attachment to your vacuum cleaner, and run it over the affected area of your car seat. Be sure to go over every inch of the seat, including cracks and crevices. You may need to repeat this process several times to remove all of the glitter.

Lint Roller

If you have a lot of pet hair in your car, the lint roller that you use to remove it might be useful for picking up glitter as well. The sticky surface of the lint roller is ideal for grabbing glitter. Press the roller to the fabric and roll it back and forth. Be sure to replace the used lint roller sheet frequently, and continue this process until all of the glitter is removed from your seat.

Rubbing Alcohol

For more serious glitter stains on fabric or leather car seats, a few sprays of a mild liquid soap may be helpful. Dilute your cleaner with water and apply to the stain, then wipe it away. You can also try dabbing the stain with a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. If you are worried about damaging your seat, test the rubbing alcohol on a small, inconspicuous part of the fabric before applying it to your seat.
