How to Remove a Graco Car Seat Cover

January 6, 2024

A car seat cover is a great way to protect your car seat from dirt, stains, and wear. It also helps keep your child comfortable and safe in the car. However, it is important to clean the cover regularly to prevent odors and grime. To do this, follow the steps below:

Read the Manual

Before attempting to clean your Graco car seat, consult the manual for your specific model. This will ensure that you are using cleaning methods that are appropriate for your particular car seat, and will not damage the seat or its components.

Most Graco car seats have a machine washable padding and cover, so if yours does, follow the instructions for washing it. Otherwise, use a solution of cold water and mild soap to hand wash your cover and padding.

Be gentle and don't over-agitate the fabric, as this can cause it to shrink or fade. For particularly stubborn stains, you can gently scrub the car seat with a soft brush. Once your cover and padding are clean, let it air dry. If it's a sunny day, you can lay it out on the grass to help speed up the drying process.

Be very careful not to get any soapy water on the harness straps or plastic parts of the seat, especially the buckles and LATCH clips. Abrasive cleaners and submerging a car seat's harness straps in the washing machine can damage their special, life-saving fibers that absorb and disperse some of the force of a collision, and they are essential to your child's safety.
