How to Wash Diono Car Seat Covers

February 3, 2024

Car seats tend to attract dirt, germs and stains over time. These can be unsightly, as well as unhealthy for your child. Luckily, most messes on the car seat can be cleaned with just some soap and water!

In order to wash your Diono car seat cover, first you will need to remove the car seat from the vehicle. Depending on the model, this may require unzipping or detaching the front harness straps and detaching the tether strap from the anchor point on the seat. Leaving these parts connected could cause them to become twisted or misrouted when you are trying to put the seat back together.

Once all the straps and fasteners are removed, you will need to locate the two tabs on the rear of the cover near the top of the seat. These are used to release the hooks that hold the cover onto the plastic shell of the seat. Once the hooks are loose, you should be able to easily pull the cover off of the seat.

Next, you will need to clean the seat cover. This can be done by filling a bucket with lukewarm water and adding a bit of mild detergent to it. Then, you will need to gently scrub the car seat cover, using a soft-bristled brush to make sure all areas are thoroughly cleaned. After scrubbing the cover, rinse it with clean water and then use a towel to dry the cover. Be careful not to wring the cover, as this can damage the fabric. Once the cover is completely dry, you can re-zip or snap it into place on the seat base.
