Humana, based in Louisville, Kentucky, serves more than 5 million people across the United States through its Medicare Advantage plans1. These plans offer alternatives to original Medicare (Parts A and B) and come with extras and benefits like vision, hearing, dental care and an annual wellness visit. Humana Medicare Advantage plans are available in all 88 counties in Ohio, and many have $0 premiums.
A lack of transportation is one of the top barriers to accessing healthcare services.1 To combat this, rideshare company Lyft has expanded its collaboration with Blue Cross and Blue Shield Institute and LogistiCare to include non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) as a benefit for select Humana Medicare Advantage (MA) plans.
With this new service, Humana MA members in Ohio can request rides to and from their homes or other locations to attend doctor appointments, pharmacies, SilverSneakers fitness centers and more. Members can book trips up to three months in advance. They can also get help from a call center, where trained representatives are on hand to answer questions.
The new service is part of Humana’s efforts to promote holistic wellness and healthy living.* This includes programs and benefits that make life easier, fuller and a lot more fun.* The company wants to be there for its members when they need it most, helping them achieve their best health and happiest life. *These benefits are not covered by Medicare.
