Knight Transportation offers company sponsored CDL training at their own truck driving school and partner schools across the country. They also offer simple 0% interest financing options to help you pay for your truck driver training. They pay you on a probationary salary starting your first week of training and then pay you a full salary once you are fully trained and have completed your required DOT physical. No other company will do this for you!
The over the road portion of the training lasts 4 to 6 weeks with 2 or 3 home breaks in between. During this time students will work with a mentor on one-on-one training and will learn many of the non-driving aspects of the job as well. Once the student is fully trained they will graduate and start a career as a Knight Driver Associate.
In terms of benefits, the company offers group medical, dental and vision coverage along with life insurance. They also have flexible regional and dedicated fright opportunities that may get drivers home more often than other OTR companies.
The fleet consists of Volvo VN670s, Peterbilt 387s and International ProStars. The average tractor is about 2 years old. The company allows drivers to bring pets on board if they like. They are not forced dispatched into NYC and they may turn down loads if they don’t want to run them.
