Located along the Missouri River, Atchison Kansas is a history-rich city full of interesting attractions. From the Muchnic Art Gallery to the International Forest of Friendship, it offers something for just about everyone!

The Museum of World Treasures is a must-see, full of surprises that kids will love. It showcases dinosaur fossils, mummies of Ancient Egypt, a recovered piece of the Berlin Wall and more!

The Museum of World Treasures is a three-story museum that features exhibits about long-lost creatures, Egyptian mummies, ancient civilizations, and the battlefields of world wars. You’ll also find American history, military displays, and an eclectic collection of other exhibits.

If you’re looking for a great place to learn more about the history of Kansas, visit this attraction. You can walk through a replica of Dorothy’s house and get a feel for what life was like in the fantasy land of Oz.

You can even see a scale model of Earhart’s plane and the Lockheed Electra 10E she flew in her famous solo flight around the world. You can also read about her life and the challenges she faced as an aviatrix.

Aside from the museums, Atchison ks also has many other attractions to visit. You can take a trip down the Big Well or explore an array of odd and wonderful homes.

Safari Zoological Park

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead

If you’re looking for a great day trip from Kansas City, don’t miss the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead. This family attraction is a 12-acre park with over 250 animals and a one room schoolhouse. You can also enjoy a fishing pond, pony rides and horse-drawn wagons!

The farmstead was modeled after a typical family farm in the early 1900s. It features a farmhouse, a one room schoolhouse and several other buildings.

Visitors of all ages can see the farm’s animals, mine for gemstones and bottle feed pygmy goats. Kids can also participate in a milking demonstration and learn to cook their own goat cheese.

Located in Overland Park, the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead is one of the most popular attractions in Kansas. It is open seasonally, April through October.

Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum

The Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum is the home where the famous aviator was born, and is the closest link to her. This place is a must see for any aviation fan, or if you just want to learn more about this amazing woman.

The house is a historic home that was added to the National Historic Site in 1971, and the museum contains plenty of memorabilia and artifacts about Amelia Earhart’s life. It’s run by the Ninety-Nines, an international group of women pilots, and has been open to the public since 1984.

The Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum also has a gift shop where you can get your own Amelia Earhart souvenirs. The museum is located in Atchison KS, and it’s one of the many attractions to visit during your time in Kansas.
