things to do in clermont florida

If you’re planning a trip to Clermont, Florida, there are a lot of things to do that will make your vacation even more enjoyable. We’ve rounded up a list of our favorite fun places in the area.

If you love art, the Clermont Performing Arts Center is a great place to check out. It hosts up to 20 events and performances every year.

Crooked River Preserve

The Crooked River Preserve is a beautiful place to enjoy nature and wildlife. It is home to redband trout and a variety of other fish, along with Rocky Mountain elk and mule deer.

The preserve also boasts a large number of natural trails that lead to secluded spots. These areas are ideal for a picnic or restful afternoon stroll.

A visit to this preserve is not only enjoyable but informative as well. Visitors can learn about the local ecology while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

Champions Splash Park

If you love playing in the water, then Champions Splash Park is a great choice for you. This fun water park is located near Clermont’s Waterfront Park and Clermont Boat Ramp.

The brightly colored splash pad features a variety of different water jets and sprays for children to enjoy. It’s also equipped with a concession stand.

The park is open 10am-6pm weekends and daily during the same hours through June 4. Admission is $2 for all-day fun, with kids 2 years and younger admitted free.

Florida Citrus Tower

Located in Clermont, Florida, the 226-foot-tall Florida Citrus Tower sits alongside US 27 on one of the highest hills in the Central Ridge Section. The tower was conceived as a monument to showcase Florida’s thriving citrus industry and was built in 1956.

Originally planned as a 75-foot-tall landmark, the tower was eventually enlarged to its current height of 226 feet. It remains one of the most popular attractions in Central Florida, though its once-prominent status as a sentinel of low-slung orange groves has been replaced with views of suburban neighborhoods and shopping centers.

The tower is a great place to take in the views of the surrounding area and get a glimpse into Florida’s past. The glass-enclosed observation deck also provides a window to downtown Orlando and iconic structures such as Walt Disney World’s Space Mountain and EPCOT’s SpaceShip Earth.

President’s Hall of Fame

Whether you’re a serious history buff or simply interested in learning some interesting facts about our country’s past, the President’s Hall of Fame is an attraction worth visiting. It has an array of exhibits dedicated to American presidents and their families.

This roadside attraction originally opened in the 1960s as a wax museum called the House of Presidents, but was later adapted to accommodate owner John Zweifel’s miniature White House replica. The model, which has been on display for over 30 years, is a must-see for anyone with a love of American history.

Lake Louisa State Park

Only 27 miles west of Orlando, Lake Louisa State Park is a 4,372 acre natural paradise. The park encompasses six scenic lakes, rolling hills and scenic landscapes.

This park is perfect for families to enjoy, as it has plenty of activities and attractions that everyone can enjoy! You can take a hike, go kayaking, fish, ride a bike and even stay in one of the many cabins available at this Florida state park.

The park has more than 20 miles of trails that will allow you to explore the diverse nature. You can also spot deer, squirrels, bobcats and gopher tortoises on the trails as well as birds of prey like bald eagles and ospreys.

The Dinner Party Project

The Dinner Party Project is a great way to connect with locals and make new friends. Each night, Founder Dana Marie Roquemore selects eight people to enjoy dinner and conversation in a welcoming environment.

The dinner is a mix of new and familiar dishes, featuring local flavors like smoked fish dip, fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, and more. It’s the perfect date night activity for a group of people who want to try new cuisine without feeling overwhelmed.

Downtown Clermont has been on a massive revitalization since our last visit, and there are plenty of exciting things to do for date night in the city. Check out the new Montrose Street Market, and keep an eye out for First Friday food truck nights.
