Jackson is home to a haunted attraction inspired by a local urban legend. People driving down North New Prospect Road have reported seeing their car roll in reverse up the hill behind them when they put their foot off the brake.

Nightmare at Gravity Hill offers a multi-scene 15-20 minute walkthrough featuring scenes and settings like a graveyard, prison cell, church, asylum and meat locker. It’s an attraction you won’t want to miss!

The farm also features four haunted attractions: the Zombie Invasion Shootout Hayride, the Jersey Devil Haunted Walk Thru Corn Maze, a Flashlight Corn Maze and an interactive Pumpkin Drop. You can also visit a Halloween market and warm up by the fire pits with make-your-own s’mores.

Bunker Hill Bogs

Located off East Veterans Parkway, Bunker Hill Bogs features a sandy walking trail and old (dried) cranberry bogs. This wildlife recreation area is also the home of a very impressive Christmas lights display, which you can see for free in early December.

The Cook’s Christmas Lights

There’s no better way to usher in the holidays than to head out and see dazzling holiday lights. From walk-through shows at amusement parks to over-the-top drive-thru displays and private homes, there’s plenty of Christmas light spectacles to enjoy across New Jersey this season.

One of the most impressive displays in New Jersey is The Cook’s Christmas Lights, which incorporates more than 30,000 lights and a 20-foot spiral tree. The lights are synched to music and illuminated nightly starting at 6 p.m.

The display’s owner, Tom Makowski, a retired engineer, hopes to double the number of lights this year to 140,000. He said he’s planning to add even more holiday music to the show.

Six Flags Great Adventure

Great Adventure is one of the largest theme parks in the world and features world-class coasters, up-close animal encounters and thrilling water parks. It also hosts popular events like Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park.

The park’s entrance is located on Main Street, an open mall themed as a turn-of-the-century town. It features a fountain that serves as the park’s central hub.

Six Flags Great Adventure also features a water park next door called Hurricane Harbor, which has 25 thrill slides and a massive wave pool. It’s gated separately and charges a separate admission fee.

In addition to the park’s rides, there are several areas where guests can go for a meal. Johnny Rockets has four locations throughout the park and specializes in all-American food, such as classic hamburgers, American Fries and shakes.

There are also several different sections within the park including The Boardwalk, a huge plaza filled with games you can play for a fee, and a Mexican-inspired area with rides such as El Toro and Rolling Thunder.
