Woodland Park

If you're looking for a small, mountain town with plenty of outdoor activities and a great job market, consider Woodland Park. It's centrally located to Colorado Springs, and is surrounded by the Pike National Forest.

The Orchard also offers a petting zoo and an on-site bakery that makes delicious apple cinnamon and pumpkin donuts. You can even buy pies, caramel apples, cider and more from the country store!

The Potawatomi Zoo

From big cats like Amur tigers, African lions and snow leopards to red pandas, white rhinos and North American River otters, you’ll see it all at the Potawatomi Zoo! Established in 1902 as a duck pond in Leeper Park, the zoo is now one of the oldest in Indiana and a popular destination in the Michiana area.

The zoo also offers family-friendly activities and attractions, including an Endangered Species Carousel. Be sure to stop by the Zoo Farm Feeding Area for a chance to pet and feed goats and alpacas.

You can even get up close and personal with giraffes! Newly added to the zoo in 2022, these animals roam a large new exhibit that was designed specifically for them. There’s also a Rhino Encounter where you can touch Masamba, a Southern White rhino.
