Whether you're here for the beaches, world-class shopping or a night on the town, Sunrise has something to offer every traveler.

Take in the stars at Fox Observatory, eat classic British food at Kingshead British Pub, or visit Cypress Preserve for some family fun. Or, keep it a little closer to home and discover the history of cars at Dauer Museum of Classic Cars.

Fox Observatory

Every day, the sun paints Florida’s sky in a stunning masterpiece. It’s a sight that can take you by surprise, so it’s important to make time to soak it in!

Fox Observatory is a great place to see this gorgeous sight. Located inside Markham Park, this facility has several telescopes that you can use to take your best sunrise shots!

This is a fun indoor activity for the whole family. It has two floors of laser quest that both adults and kids will enjoy.

Another way to capture a beautiful sunrise is to head to Secret Woods, a nature center in Sunrise that’s open from dawn until sunset. The 57-acre Urban Wilderness Area is a nature lover’s dream, and you can even get some great pictures of mangrove preserves and wetland that thrive in the park.

Kingshead British Pub

If you're looking for a fun way to spend your evening, Kingshead British Pub is a must-visit. It's got the best food, beer, and a cool ambiance.

The restaurant also has free WiFi, perfect for catching up on work or staying in touch with friends and family. Its impressive menu includes everything from traditional pub fare to a number of upscale dishes made with fresh local ingredients.

The pub has a small but friendly staff and a great selection of ales, stouts, and lagers. It's a classic British pub with a modern twist. The most noteworthy thing about this establishment is its customer service, which is top notch. It's not uncommon for a large crowd to show up at one time or another, but you'll never feel rushed here.

Cypress Preserve

One of the most popular parks in Sunrise, Cypress Preserve is a great place to take your kids and enjoy nature. It has a swamp-themed splash pad, 9-hole disc golf course, recycled material nature trail and picnic pavilions.

The park is also environmentally friendly with solar lights and sensors that turn off the water when not in use.

This natural area is home to a wide variety of birds, turtles and alligators and is known for its boardwalk trails that offer scenic wilderness views. The preserve has an interpretive center and a gift shop, and is open every day.

It’s no wonder that this area is a popular destination for locals. It’s a quick drive from major highways and is less than an hour away from both Downtown Miami and Palm Beach.

Dauer Museum of Classic Cars

When you visit Dauer Museum of Classic Cars, you’ll feel like you’re transported back in time. Over 55 classic cars are displayed here, ranging in age from 1906 to 2020, and they’re all in pristine condition.

They’re displayed in era-specific settings, like a replica of a circa 1934 Texaco gasoline station or a fully functional vintage ambulance. They’ll take you back to the era when Americans engaged in simpler, more enjoyable lives.

Eddie and Joanne Dauer have been collectors of classic cars for over 50 years. They opened this amazing facility to share their passion with the public.

ArtsPark at Young Circle

For a fun and educational day in the sun, visit the ArtsPark at Young Circle. This 10-acre park opened in 2007 and offers a variety of visual and performing arts themed educational, recreational and entertainment activities for adults and children.

The park features an amphitheater, a playground and an arts pavilion. You can also try your luck at a steel drum circle and feast your eyes on various murals that are created by local artists.

Art Walk is the third Saturday of every month at ArtsPark at Young Circle and it features a community-wide event that includes local artists, restaurants and galleries. The park is also home to a local astronomical observatory. The Fox Observatory is open on Saturday evenings weather permitting and is staffed by members of the local astronomy association.
