Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium

It’s also home to the National WASP WWII Museum, which honors women who served in the crucial Women Air Force Service Pilots. During our visit, we were treated to an illuminating lesson about the critical role these pilots played in WW II.

Argos Brewhouse & Bookseller

The Argos Brewhouse & Bookseller is a unique place to sip on a craft beer and read a book. Located in the heart of downtown, it is owned by a trio of Sweetwater residents, including Jeff Allen, Jared Houze, and Rod Wetsel.

The store also carries some of the best coffee in town. Its most impressive feature is its coffee machine, which is the first of its kind in Sweetwater. The store also has a number of other features to keep you entertained. The best part is you can get it all in one spot. The Argos is the perfect destination for locals and visitors alike.

Rattlesnake Round-Up

Rattlesnake roundups are fun events that usually include a lot of activities and attractions. During a rattlesnake roundup, you can learn about snakes, pet them and fill up at food booths.

Sweetwater’s Rattlesnake Round-Up has been around since 1958, and it’s a staple of the local economy and culture. The event also raises money for the community, with proceeds going to school programs and community events.

At the event, hunters compete to capture the largest rattlesnakes. After they’re rounded up, they’re brought to the Nolan County Coliseum, where they’re milked and skinned for meat or sold. The heads are also cut off, and they’re used as souvenirs.
