If you are a UNT student, faculty or staff member, you can use a valid UNT ID to ride the UNT Shuttle system and DCTA Connect Bus services throughout Denton for free. For additional transit options, including the A-train, students can also purchase a DCTA University Pass for discounted rates. For more information on how to use these passes, click here.
UNT Shuttle services provide convenient connections between campus and student housing, the UNT Business Park, Downtown Denton and surrounding neighborhoods. Students who live off-campus can also use these services to get to classes and other activities on campus. Shuttle service is available while classes are in session, Monday through Friday, with limited service on the weekends and during summer break. Check UNT Transportation Services for schedules, or sign up to receive email updates about the latest shuttle schedules and routes.
The UNT Shuttle system is operated by the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA). Students, faculty and staff can ride the UNT Campus Shuttle and other DCTA services for free by showing their UNT ID card. To learn more about the UNT Campus Shuttle system and its route numbering scheme, download a Route Number Cheat Sheet. For more on the broader scope of DCTA bus services, students can also view a full list of current local and regional bus fares online.
During Fall and Spring semesters, students can take advantage of on-demand transit service by using the Eride app, which offers safe and reliable on-demand rides to and from campus after hours. During winter and spring breaks, students can ride the FlixBus to cities like Dallas, Corsicana and Waco for fun outings or to visit family. The best part is, by carpooling with fellow UNT students on Eride and other NCTC and DART services, you can earn rewards discounts and prizes!
