USC Transportation

August 9, 2023

USC Transportation oversees parking, bus service and all transportation-related operations for the university’s campuses. Approximately 44,000 students call usc home and we strive to provide them with safe, convenient and affordable ways to get around campus.

We encourage you to take advantage of our extensive bus and vanpool options that allow you to save money, avoid parking fees and emissions pollution while providing social and environmental benefits. These services also help to alleviate peak-period traffic congestion and parking demand.

If you’re planning to drive to campus, please note that due to the ongoing active shooter situation, USC will be implementing enhanced security measures at all entrances and in the USC parking structures. We recommend that you plan ahead, use public transportation (LA Metro has an online trip planner and can be accessed with your USC card), and bring a little extra patience.

In addition to the USC bus system, which serves the University Park and Health Sciences campuses, both of our student-run Lyft ride-sharing programs offer limited free rides to all faculty, staff and students. By selecting the SHARED option on either USC Rides or Campus Cruiser, individuals can receive free rides every evening from 6pm to 2am within the UPC or HSC geofences. Carpooling and vanpooling are also great alternatives for getting to campus – you can make new friends and reduce your commute time, while saving money on gas, vehicle maintenance and insurance costs. You can purchase a monthly permit through usc transportation for either of these programs by visiting our website.
