What Does a Loofah on a Car Mean?

December 4, 2023

A strange rumor has been making the rounds on social media about senior swingers in Florida. Apparently, they’ve developed their own code to indicate their kinky sexual desires using different colored loofahs tied to the top of their cars. According to a Reddit thread, white means you’re a beginner, black means you’re open to everything, teal means you’re bisexual, and purple is for people who like to watch.

The story has gained traction in part because it centers on The Villages, the nation’s largest retirement community known for being a place where old people go wild. The Villages has its own shops, restaurants, and bars, and is also home to an exclusive country club where members can play golf and tennis while getting sexy.

But is it really true that residents of The Villages are displaying their kinky inclinations by tying loofahs to their cars? We reached out to the community to find out.

What Is a Loofah?

A loofah is a long, rough sponge-like piece of plant fiber that you use to scrub your body. You can buy one at most stores that sell bath products. To use it, apply soap to it and rub it against your body in circular motions.

Rinse the loofah after each use and make sure it dries completely before putting it away. If you don’t do this, it can start to smell. It’s a good idea to sanitize your loofah at least once a week, either in the dishwasher or by boiling it for 30 seconds or so. You should also replace it often.
