The Pearsons are always moving, connecting, and circling back into the past and future on This Is Us. So it's not surprising that NBC's era-flipping drama was all about going to the cabin in this week's episode.
It's time for the Big Three to come together and reconnect at their family cabin -- the same place Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) buried a dream for Rebecca to build near their home, one they never got to see until after she died. But this reunion isn't the only thing that happens here:
Randall panics over what to put in a time capsule at the cabin. Kate bury's a game of MASH, Kevin bury's a picture of him with his daughter Sophie, and Rebecca secretly bury's a sketch of Jack's dream house that Jack drew at the cabin before he died.
There's also a lot of emotional turmoil at the cabin, with Rebecca struggling to manage her grief and Kate trapped in a toxic relationship with Marc. But they'll get through this, too!
In this year's episode, the family reunites at the cabin to celebrate Thanksgiving. It's the first time that the Big Three have seen Rebecca in years, and it's the first time they've been able to speak with her since she's been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
She still has a lot to say about keeping her son from William, but she's no longer the selfish person she once was. She's been able to see how much he loved her and wants him to know that he's still a part of her life, even if they won't be able to spend time together in the future.
