Who Owns Amanpulo?

June 15, 2023

Blissfully marooned on its own private island in the Cuyo archipelago, fringed with white sand beaches and pristine reefs, Amanpulo is a tropical paradise that has consistently been recognised internationally as a premier beach resort. One of the dozens of properties belonging to the Aman chain worldwide, it is certainly a shining star of its kind.

As a result, it’s not uncommon to spot Amanpulo gracing the Instagram feeds of well-heeled travellers, especially as more and more well-travelled individuals are looking for an alternative to overworked Thailand, Maldives and Caribbean destinations. The secluded island, known locally as Pamalican, is a favourite among celebrities and influencers who fly in on private propeller planes to spend a few days here.

Fringed with the finest white sand and complemented by turquoise waters that change colour from aquamarine to emerald, it’s easy to see why this idyllic setting has been hailed as the best in the world. It’s also a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles and you can witness hatchlings make their way to the moonlit ocean during your stay.

The 40 casitas – inspired by the traditional Filipino hut, or bahay kubo – at Amanpulo are spread across the island, either along the beachfront or up in the treetops, all with uninterrupted views of the crystalline sea and verdant jungle. Wake up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore through your floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, and enjoy an indoor/outdoor lifestyle with all the resort’s facilities still within reach. For those with a little more privacy, the Treetop Pool Casitas are an opulent sanctuary of their own, with 68 square metres (731 sqft) of secluded space.
